So, I order Xfinity internet today and they just happen to throw in a $400 smartphone in addition to saving me a fuckload of money.

Ummmmmm.............................

Yeah that's pretty handy dandy, right there.

My squad, yo.

Ultimately, they will bend you over and penetrate your anus so deeply and forcefully that you will cry out your mothers name.

As long as they have a beautiful woman do that and she brings a over a little vodka, that's just fine. Nothing wrong with a little prostate stimulation imo.

It's more of a bridge situation for me. I need the highest internet speed possible for my job, and their shit rips.

Their salesman was genuinely fucking cool as well.

 these bastards still claim I owe them money, after years of screwing me

I stepped down from the mortgage funder position.

Two reasons:

1) I reached total "burnout". I worked my ass off at first doing OT and yes if you do it the juice is worth the squeeze. Burnout SUCKS though.

2) I have an articulate mind, not a programming type mind.

Since I can sell things to people in my sleep, I took on a work from home customer service position. I will be receiving inbound calls afternoons and nights helping people upgrade their digital devices.

Is it a big hit economically? Sure - going from making about $65k to maybe $35k sucks but with the late schedule I can really focus on music, poker, etc. while still paying rent - all the while helping people.

A main reason why is this job STAYS work from home. The funding position company are headed back to the office soon and the public transportation commute is like 2.5 hours each way via public transportation - not doable.

Weird decision, but I like I arrived at the right conclusion. Money isn't everything - you have to be happy.

With some fear and trepidation, I now embark on doing my taxes for 2020.

Proving once again I have no idea how financial stuff works, I am actually getting a return of ~ $1400.

People have always impressed on me that large amounts of overtime lead to a higher amount owing at tax time. I have never done more overtime in my life than I did in 2020. Not even close. I was getting constant premiums and time-and-a-halfses basically right from the start of covid.

So I just figgered . . .

But nope.

Speaking of random thoughts: UHAUL.

It's obviously a business decision that their vans will have random thoughts on them. Not just a little quick phrase - there tends to be a title and a big illustration and then a paragraph starting with: DID YOU KNOW . . .

And it seems like they are unique. Every time I see a UHAUL vehicle, it's something different.

I gotta say: great idea in principle, terrible idea in practice. While I'm very interested in these things, here's what I don't need: a significant amount of reading material when I'm driving.

I also remember one time the "did you know" was about tarantulas - so I'm driving along and suddenly there's a pic of a tarantula almost as high as a van right beside me.

I'm all like, jesus fuck with the gigantic spiders while I'm driving.

My tax filing this year is a thing of beauty. Absolute masterpiece.

I'd like to hear more, if you are willing to share.

side question: what are your thoughts on reporting cryptos?

I formed a business with assets (yearling racehorses) that qualify for bonus depreciation. This plus some other stuff reduced my agi to nearly 50% of my W2 income.

Income from any source derived is income under the tax code. I don't advocate tax fraud - with a little bit of effort you can beat the tax code legitimately.
