My retaining wall for my front steps is way foked up.

Is this what being an adult is all about?

Complaining about faulty infrastructure?

Better get your ass to lowes. Maybe buy a compressor? Some other tools?

Exactly why I dipped on being a homeowner. I owned 4 homes in the the last 19 years. I’m fokken over that.

What’s other option?

There was similar repairs when I was renting a condo, but I just had to pay some dude rent every month.

I think townhouse or condo (or house with HOA) is a decent move for someone who wants minimal maintenance but still wants the permanence and equity of home ownership.

Renting is obviously not ideal (zero equity) but any place I’ve ever rented, the second something broke or didn’t work, I just made one phone call and it was repaired or replaced within 24 hours with zero work or money on my part.

All personal preference. At this stage of my life, I want to live in a place that is as close as possible to a nice hotel.

I could see myself buying a condo, renting it out and then renting another one for myself. Pay a handyman for repairs. Best of both worlds.

If we were going to stay in the city renting I always liked the idea of buying a cheap ass place in the woods, catskills or something. Gotta pay a handiman/caretaker but you could use it and cover the cost with vacation rentals.

Phoenicia, NY.

Awesome town.

Got a buddy there, never been but heard good things. That whole area is totally busted in terms of property values now tho. My inlaws bought a place in Olivebridge 10 years ago and sold it 3 years ago for 250% gain. Hipsters with hobby farms and shit.

No chicken coop at the Boners?

Nah. Were like 2000 ft from the train station - in town.

My mother in law just moved 6 miles away and they have chickens and bees, total hispter douches. They have a pool too so its all good.
