Friday is trash day here, but they didn't come 7/3 due to the observed holiday. Got a maggot infestation working in those bins, feel bad when they do come... guess that's part of the job.

I get the odd maggot infestation in my trash during the summer months too.

For some reason flies are extremely attracted to my tomato plants. Which happen to be next to my garbage bin.

Has anyone died from the seasonal flu in the United States in the last 5 months?

Another issue I forgot to mention was the fact that there is so much disagreement in the USA that relief seems to be a long way away.

For example, in Canada the strategy for better or worse is the same countrywide. Flatten the curve.
Those small population (mainly Atlantic) provinces that have done well (zero cases) have eased up on restrictions etc. The more populous provinces of Ontario and Quebec have tighter restrictions and will need to keep them in place for longer.

In America its each state on its own. Its a mishmash of strategies. I'm saying I believe it would be better to pick ONE strategy and enforce it nationwide.
Could be the Swedish model or the way most other nations are doing it but having Texas do its own thing while neighboring states are practising something else is just a clusterfuck.

America, please come to a consensus and follow through. People and the states need to stop fighting/being divisive and become "united" in order to resolve this situation.
(see what I did there?)
I don't really see that to be much of an issue. Everybody pretty much did the same thing. There certainly wasn't any radically different strategy.
I wish there was. I would've gone to a state where everything was open. Sparsely populated states like South Dakota were a little quicker to reopen their restaurants and casinos.
And honestly I don't think there's much of a difference between then and now. The shutdowns and hysteria was idiocy. Hopefully they've decided that they can't force people into hiding forever, and the political will isn't there for it.

I'm all for a mask mandate.

I’m fine with masks if everyone has the proper mask. But what I see 30% of people wearing as a mask isn’t going to do shit to stop microscopic droplets from being transmitted.

Our grocery store across the street is giving out good masks when you show up without one.

On Sunday, we are flying for the first time since the Rona. Blitty, how’s air travel been post-Rona?

Pretty typical.

Did Pensacola - Nashville yesterday.

Most people wear masks.

Obviously the policy to leave all middle seats empty is awesome.

Its fine. 96% normal.

Flu deaths are always just an estimation. "The CDC uses a mathematical formula to estimate the flu burden in the US, based on approximately 8.5% of the population, or about 27 million people. This model has been in place since 2010."

By most accounts they are an over-estimation.

What % harder would you estimate it to be to fuck a flight attendant in the bathroom though?

Also are pre boarding processes different / longer?

If you were to say the word bomb 100 times loudly before take off, do you think they would be still drag the offender off as efficiently?

Flew a few weeks ago. Frontier took temperature before boarding. If over 100.4 then you are not allowed to board. More stressful if you are as hungover as i was after a long weekend of golf. Everyone was required to wear a mask on plane. All middle seats were occupied. Didn't feel any different than pre-rona. Archie, through a mask you might get away with it due to muffled words. Try it and let us know if you can pull it off.

Interesting. We just did a 3 state road trip, then flight. Never got temp taken.

Last week I failed the forehead test at Buffalo Wild Wings.

I had to stand there for 5 minutes, before re-test.

Assholes.

Vegas is last week of July. We are going to Hotlanta on Sunday.
