Depends how the exchange is going. If they are hugh messages then after about the 4th I ask if she'd be interested in drinking booze with me. Most I don't really have to ask because they will just end a message with their number.

When I was meeting chicks through the internet, there was a wide variance on that. But you said on average, so I would say, mmmm, 10. 5 each.

If it was just up to me, the numbers would be higher. I like the writing back and forth part and consider it valuable and educational. But some chicks just wanna get things moving.

I send roughly 3-5 messages before gaining a number/meeting. Each message is composed of about 3-5 sentences.

I have been having a lot of success lately number-closing within 10 minutes via IM chatting. Look for the chat Icon by their name if you want a quick number close.
