We don’t have any plans yet and that was going to be my next question for you.
I was REALLY hoping the Dodgers would be in town but NOPE. We don’t leave until Saturday so we have a whole free day on Friday. The Angels are in town but we aren’t super pumped about that.,
Any suggestions on what do do while in LA? I haven’t been to LA in 5 years and my sons have never been.
We arrive at noon on Wednesday the 24th so we should have roughly a half day on Wednesday, 3 or so hours before we leave for SoFi on Thursday and all day Friday.
I wonder if I’m making a mistake not renting a car.
This is what ChatGPT says I should do with our free time (obviously I’d keave out SoFi as we are going there on the 25th

So unfortunately LA kind of sucks in regards to one-size-fits-all "stuff to do", as the downtown area and Hollywood where lots of the touristy things are are super trash and overrun with homeless.
If museums interest you or the kids at all, there are, there are a bunch of noteworthy ones. But ChatGPT actually has the right idea in sticking to the beaches.
That Terranea area really is nice, if you just want to enjoy some outdoor beach vibes. But for a more unique "LA" feel, I'd do Manhattan + Hermosa Beach one day and Venice Beach another.
Manhattan pier and Hermosa pier ("The Strand") are easy to walk end to end, lots of locals do it (my wife and I included). Super expensive houses on one side, great beach on the other. Then on the way back, you could walk the non beach way (Ocean Drive), lots of local shops, bars, etc. Tons of cool places to eat at Manhattan Beach Pier.
Venice Beach is just crazy. Muscle Beach, Santa Monica Pier... more touristy and trashy than the Strand, but fun for people watching and a unique experience. Then the same day you do Venice Beach, since thats the only time you'll be that far North, head east and check out Griffith Observatory. Probably the one cool tourist spot thats actually really nice, amazing views of the city. Optimal strategy is to get there early evening so you can see the views day and night.
Venice Beach to Griffith Observatory passes by Westwood (UCLA college town), Beverly Hills (fancy homes, Rodeo Drive), The Grove (nice big outdoor shopping spot and Farmers Market), Hollywood (not my favorite, but iconic).
Day of the game I'd honestly leave for the stadium a bit earlier than 1:30. Why not? Soak in the vibes and activities longer, no stress on timing. Could even go across the street to Hollywood Park and degen a bit 😂. That'd be a good day to grab Original Pancake House if you are breakfast people or In N Out for early lunch if you aren't (gotta try a double double grilled onion In N Out while you are here) and then head over at noonish or so.
