RR I don't have a car, this is my vehicle. Woulda needed to rent a car to get the rim and new tire to the shop. Plus shops here suck, they take a week to do anything.
 
That said, prolly not gonna do this myself again. I still need to have the wheel balanced.

i didnt know you guys didnt have a ride... relatives with a car live close by? is your area similar to nyc, where everyone takes taxis and there is too much traffic/shit parking/overpriced parking etc. to deal with a vehicle?
 
No relatives in town. Yes, same deal as NYC. There are 3 car-sharing programs with dozens of cars available in the building's garage, on the street and in another parking garage across the street.

Just log on to the Zipcar/car2go/Autoshare website, book a car, bring the car seat downstairs and voila.

Rode a BMW X1 to the in-laws last week. Nice little car.
 
thats just another world to me... so is the supermarket walking distance or do you have to get a car for a few hours at $9 ish bucks an hour all the time?

i guess you guys taxi it when you go out drinking? much cheaper than the zipcar

Not that I go out anymore but when I do I car2go to the bar (car2go allows one-way rentals) and cab it home.

Too much of a diva for public transit anymore.
