Well isn't that a fine how-do-you-do?

If I had any sense, I would be desperately clinging to that job. It pays really well. The chances are almost zero I could find a comparable full-time job for close to the same money.

But I have been having trouble with the full-time concept and have been thinking I would like to, as I say, rejigger. Maybe do a couple of part-time things. Maybe there would be less of a feeling of being in jail.

I don't know. Maybe there is just no winning this thing.

MrsM vote would be, don't leave until they drag you out! I personally know for a fact! :chained:

I kind of thought that maybe time at work would speed up now. Like, now that the reality of the end has come - I know exactly when it is and it's pretty soon - single digit days . . . I kind of thought maybe I would want to take it all in more. Nostalgia is not exactly the right word but just a sense that maybe things haven't been so bad and, sure, it's going to end and that's good, but no need to be in an all-out rush to get out the door in a puff of smoke. Maybe slow down and appreciate things like I never have (which would make time, which always works the opposite of what it should, go faster).

But no, it's dragging more than ever.

Don't you have stuff to do? I get so busy at work that weeks fly by like they're nothing. And I don't especially love my job either. It's just, a job.

:lmao: I wonder why that is rarely the case. Whatever jobs I had I feel the most important part of them was watching the clock. And it feels like most of the people I run into who are working appear bored.

I have not been particularly busy, no. That is the heart of the matter. That's why I am expendable.

Actually this week was not even that bad. (Bad meaning nothing to do). There was a fairly steady stream of tasks. If it stays like this, dude who is going to have to do his job plus mine is going to be extremely busy for awhile. But it will peter out more and more. No way around that.

But whatever - time went REALLY slow this week.

Goal for next week - preserve my fingers no matter what. There are so many ways to pinch/squash/flatten fingers in my job. Fuck it would be a piss-off if I finished up but had a damaged finger that prevented me from playing guitars/keyboards for a length of time. I can't imagine a suckier legacy from a crap job.

So I'll be making sure to guard the digits at all cost.

Got me some special protective equipment for the last week.
