The rest of our itinerary included two nights at the Diamondhead hotel. Which was a fairly decent place to say it was cool to be on the 11th floor and have a view of the gulf of America
Calm shallow ocean, and a nice pool for the kids to play, but that area kind of reminded me of Tijuana. Obviously, they’re still recovering from the hurricane.
Dixie seafood Company was our best meal. Tasty ceviche and grouper cheek bites.
Also ate a bunch of grouper elsewhere that was always yummy, tons of Keylime pie. Few rounds of oysters. Coconut shrimps hit the spot.
Izzi Seafood in Fort Myers downtown was pretty cool. I had an excellent red fish risotto.
Walked a bit of the Six mile slough preserve, instead of corkscrew. No gators though.
The rooftop bar at the Luminary in downtown Fort Myers was pretty cool, sweet view from up top.
My wife kept mentioning how she preferred the Sarasota / Siesta / Tampa area. But that’s a bigger city so not sure they are comparable. Thoughts?
I could see coming back for a guys trip in Ftm. Do some fishing golf etc... I’m sure you could show me some super cool stuff I missed out on

Good stuff Blitty. I have not spent much time in Ft Myers so I'm not familiar with those spots. Glad you enjoyed yourself!

Woman bitten by alligator in Collier County was hiking through the water, FWC says
FWC revealed the woman was hiking through the water when she unintentionally made contact with the alligator. She was bitten on the leg and arm and transported to a nearby hospital.
