I think Americans perception that Toronto is so cold is because of the fact they are backwards and not yet on the metric system.

Toronto winter temperatures are not much different than temps NYC, Philadelphia, Boston or any other city in the northeastern USA.


It's a language barrier, Americans think 32 is cold when 32 is actually hot!

I think people who have been outside the US know that. Not all Americans are created equal.

Preference this by saying always thought Toronto was colder than it actually is but Plommer as you can see there not the same!

Worked enough outside to know there's quite a difference in 31 to 33 degrees! Not everyone has Matty's office job!

Not one month in Philly where average high is below freezing! Toronto has 2! Philly has 3 average winter months lows are below freezing while Toronto has 5!
 
Monkey, I agree that Philly has milder winter weather than Toronto, my point was that if you can handle a Philly winter you should easily handle a Toronto winter.

Winter in Winnipeg or Edmonton is a whole nother ballgame.

PS: I am pretty sure the chances of getting killed outside are greater in Philly than here.
