trying to give you some insight into how I go about choosing my victims. at my very first house in chicago today trying to fix up the inside a little bit for some new peoples.... made a little vid, cept my battery died before I really got started...

Arch, I'm intrigued. Any chance you can interview someone from Black Gangster Disciples, Folk Nation, P-Stone or maybe a Vice Lord? Archie, that would be so cool, slightly dangerous for a white-boy with a twitch but still cool as hell.

I've been researching some gang stuff lately and I am both fascinated and repulsed by the mentality that goes into being one of these members. These kids are so much conditioned from such an early age and totally lose all concept of right and wrong outside of what it is to the gang itself.

I was worried for you initially Arch because you started out too “aw shucks-like” but you caught yourself and adjusted. I was very pleased to see that you didn’t adjust the wrong way and attempt to be “down” cause we both know that’s just laughable.

Looking forward to more, maybe even a series of videos and maybe street interviews of Chicago’s badlands.

well it wasn't Jose's/Joes... even though he kinda was the manager... it was called express tire...

some mexican guy that owned/ran it just said one day... don't come to work tomorrow i'm gonna burn this down tonight (for the insurance)

so Jose bought this place on my block last year and started on his own...

I had no idea this is why the fire started, last spring/summer? until about 6 weeks ago I was getting some air in my tires and I ask jose about it.. and he just told me outright, which is kinda odd...
 
"Johnny" is OG and actually pretty connected

he's helped me out in a lot of ways

I gave him one of my old bikes just recently. that's why you hear him call out to me "hey thanks Brian"

I gave Roger the bigger bike

we had a good conversation I wish the camera hadn't died there. He's seen some shit and could have answered all wal's questions, though he'd never do it on camera

yeah its very rare that anyone blabs about that kinda stuff around here. and he barely knows me.

maybe the guy already got busted for arson. I can't find anything online, I remember it being in the trib or suntimes when it happened, but I can't even find that...

do you have any more tips for how to "act" when i'm on the streets?
 
Only thing I do is act like I belong Arch. Not saying that if I'm in the ghetto I act ghetto just like if I'm at the Country Club I don't act all Country Club'ish either. Hard to describe acting like you belong even when that means not acting like the environment around you.

I guess I mean to just "own" it Arch.

Easy for me to say this Arch, I've never seen a real gang member. The ones around here are all pretenders.
 
I don't know what you've been doing either. Sometimes you're sending some dude down to the market to fetch your beer so that's borderline plantation owner. Next you are in the park chillin' with the children so that's kind of White Knight'ish (confirming my age if you remember the show).

I guess you adapt and adjust pretty well Arch.
