Matty's instructions were pretty simple: Top TEN Rock and Roll bands of all time. Guitars and drums.

I looked at the complete body of work when making my lists. Some bands made some great records (Radiohead, REM, The Beach Boys (Pet Sounds OMG) but their COMPLETE body of work kept them off of my list.

1) The Beatles

2) U2 They released The Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby BACK TO BACK. That is so sick.

3) Led Zep

4) Queen

5) The Doors

6) The Who

7) Michael Jackson/The Jackson 5 (If you don't think this is Rock and Roll you are sadly mistaken)

8) Oasis (body of work got them on my list)

9) AC/DC (I could watch Angus live until my eyes fall out of my head)

10) Depeche Mode (Again, this is rock and roll. The majority of these songs were written on an acoustic and their songs are ripe with guitar parts. Acoustic drums were used exclusively on Songs of Faith and Devotion. This band released, "Music For The Masses", "Violator" and "Songs Of Faith and Devotion" back to back to back. Here are just a portion of the singles that these three albums contained).

Depeche Mode and Oasis are great, DM almost made my list. Scrapped for Dave Mustaine's riffing and growl.

Also, when I think of rock n roll DM just doesn't come to mind, not that they aren't amazing, it's just they don't.

Michael Jackson was a good one. I feel the same way about U2 as Robyn feels about Soundgarden.

Just for the U2 comment actually, let's not get carried away.

Megadeth?

Damn, beaten down again.

Okay, here we go, Megadeth. Yes.

If you can't be impressed by the guitar and drums in this song than I just don't know what to say

Also not a single band member wearing a shirt in this video :+1:

im confused...daffy is this who you think should be the top 10, or who your favorite top 10 is? i cant imagine mike and/or the jacksons would be in any white mans favorite top 10... but i know you have eclectic taste, so i could be wrong...

 hard to believe they should be ahead of Metallica but I'll go with it.

It's just a personal preference Reno. I know most would have Metallica and a few others possibly from that era ahead of them, I just always liked Megadeth better. I think it's just their style is a little different, it's more thrashy and less rock.
