First base is by far the easiest infield position to play. It’s traditionally where the weakest defensive positional player plays in MLB plays

I think I found it more difficult "personally" because I spent such a long time at second it was was a lot easier for me. It takes quite a bit of skill to position your body in a way that you can catch the many errant throws, digging in the dirt, and such.

I dont think it's necessarily on him to just suck it up and learn a new position. Yeah I'd want my players (as an owner or fan) do just do whatever is best for the team according to the GM and skip. But I don't think 99% of $20M/yr players would just change. More than 50% I'd think would be team players here but 1 in 4 maybe would just hold out I'd think (and many more the team would just not even get into that jamb).

I think, though, that in this specific spot, it’s CLEARLY the best move for the TEAM to WIN an extra game or 2 this season by having Druthers er um I mean Devers move to 1B

The GM/Skipper aren’t doing it to break balls. If you can play 3B, you can play 1B. The same can’t be said about a first baseman moving to third base.

I mean, look at Jazz. He’s not exactly the most humble dude in MLB and he didn’t say a peep when the Marlins moved him from SS to CF and when the Yankees had him @ 3B (I don’t know if he’s still there). He wanted to win more games and trusted the Front Offices judgement.

Oh 100% guy is a selfish douche so if that's your point I agree and im glad he's not a Yankee. But to ask "imagine a baseball player...telling his employers that he won’t play a certain position on the field"

It's not that surprising.. kinda happens all the time, no?
