I have been listening to these guys for a bit now. Neutral Milk Hotelis a band whose music is as intriguing as their back story.

This is just one of their songs of the album "In The Aeroplane Over The Sea" that has been heralded by many as one of the best indie albums of all time.

Here is another great song by them that up until recently was unreleased.

Just a great band that never made it big.

MTV could take a lesson from real musicians and make an awards show that showcases musicians and not pretty boys and girls that dress like fairies and tranny greasers.

You know what, I hate "indie" music for the most part. The "indie" label tends to be used by and for talentless hacks. But I do agree that MTV is pushing nothing but prefabricated, ultra-optimized-and-market-researched bullcrap. I don't think it was always this way. There has to be a middle ground between open-mic-level garbage and J-Lo.

Now, I'm not going to click on your links cause I'm 99% certain that they're going to make me angry.

In the immortal words of Mudcat, I bid you GOOD DAY!

Listen to this guy's voice at the end of each line! :lmao:

Right out of the box and first line "At the age of five she slit her wrists" This is not a happy song!

Look I'm by far not a expert in good or bad music, but Casper IMO there's a reason why they never made it big! To each his own I guess!

PS If you keep listening to this music without question your dream girl won't ever exist!

I know I'm wacked but God I love Gamelive.com :lmao:

I really would like to know other posters feelings on this song and please tell me if I missed the boat here! You won't hurt my feelings!

I think it's a sign that we're getting old, Matty. I think my parents used to say the same thing about the music we listened to.

Right, but I mean, the guys from Nirvana and RHCP all met at a young age and they somehow grew up to make noise that people enjoyed. They weren't glorified marketing campaigns. Not from the start anyway.

:wah:

Fok capitalism.

Reno!

guys voice sounds like a very poor whiny knock off version of matthew sweet maybe...and by the way, theres a reason why this band has never been heard of and will never make it... but its like guys who fuck fat chicks...you like what you like and everyone is different

Ok, I clicked on those links. Didn't make me angry. But it's unremarkable, unfinished music.

Bob Dylan didn't make it big just by bashing chords on his acoustic. Contrary to popular belief among buskers.

I have always been a big Matthew Sweet fan. I hear the similarities, but I also hear a subtle difference in their style as well.

For sure. But then a whole slew of less talented mimics from the grunge era followed. The entertainment companies (music, TV, movies, etc.) find a formula that works, copy it, and dilute it until people stop buying it.
