I have a smell that reminds me of my grandma that I can only conjure in my head. We were at the Spaghetti Factory in Kansas City when I was a kid...got in a car with my Uncle who lit up a cigarette...I threw up all over a necklace GM had brought me from Hawaii...those beads had a particular smell anyway....I was holding this small stuffed animal of mine. So it's kind a bead, "Bingo" (stuffed animal,) spaghetti barf smell. Funny the things that stay with you.


My other GM...just nursing home smell. I didn't know her that long. Maybe those little mints with the white beads on them.

There was no way to hold the funeral this weekend, she was 100 miles away from Montreal, where the ceremony will be. She's going to get cremated, then placed on a shelf next to my grandpa.
