1985 Yamaha FJ600, got it for 800 bucks (!)

Needs some TLC but it seems to run just fine. Needs a new battery and a new rear tire, plus right now it needs to warm up for a solid 10-15 minutes otherwise it stalls when idling. Other than that it's fine.

We think we did good boys. My other options in the no-budget range were a crappy CBR125R or that vintage 2-stroke Kawasaki. I got a lot more bike than I thought I would.

Matty, just reviewing your purchase and was wondering .....

if you can't stop the 10-15 minute idling with the classic cycle you purchased ......

would you make it to work faster by continuing to walk? .......

plus don't forget the win-win with the walk cause of the weight issue?

Why must I always be called in to correct you?

We have rules and one of those rules is that someone who refuses to be seen on camera is NOT allowed to request others to be seen on camera.

If you would learn to respect the rules of certain threads and the forum in general we wouldn't keep having to have these interactions.

But Wally, for one, the only Video where I am on tape, is where I wasn't being very nice to you...which you already saw, second of all...wait I am on a video, one of Stevek173/174's video when we started dating, I was in the kitchen cooking dinner. (yeah, yeah, where men thing I belong, blah, blah, blah)...so yeah, I can request anything I want...plus, I have a pussy, you don't.

Just spent the whole day fixin' her up. Woulda taken a selfie if I'd seen this thread earlier.

New battery and plugs and we adjusted the idle screw. It still needs to warm up for 5 mins or so before it'll stay idling at ~1200rpm but otherwise it seems to be in great shape.

I finally took her for a spin around the self-storage parking lot. OMFG. I was NOT expecting that kind of acceleration out of an old beater. Holy crap! I kept riding the clutch out of sheer terror.
