I am not here to shoot down The Hunger Games. I have heard pretty good things about it. I imagine I will see it at some point.

However I hear the main character's name is Katniss Everdeen. I find that to be perhaps the worst made-up name of all time. I hate that name. Katniss Everdeen.

It makes me want to punch someone in the face.
 
My music guru has given me a CD by Dead Weather. He makes stuff that I ask for and then periodically he throws in something that he feels I should listen to. I'm not complaining, believe me - some of my current favorite music (Cracker, Muse) I have been introduced to in this way.

So the latest thing is Dead Weather. I have finally gotten around to listening to it.

I don't know what to say about it. Is anyone here familiar with Dead Weather? I recognize a lot of creativity and originality in it but I dunno.

It is just a bit much.

got bit by a brown recluse earlier this week
didnt know it till couple days later when I started searching for what the hell could cause damage/pain I was experiencing.
the red/black/blue blister finally drained all the puss out...( and the skin around it hasnt died yet)
but I got a red streak going up my arm from the blister to my armpit with some painfull knots under the skin:uh:

considering going to a doc if it doesnt get better in next couple days

Interesting doin's a-happnin' at work next little while.

My job is weird because they have never really needed me. Ever since I've been there it should really be a part-time job. There is not enough work to do. But they say that sometimes it gets much busier so maybe that's true. It has been 4+ months so I don't know when it is supposed to happen but that's what they say.

Being not busy like that is crappy for a couple reasons. For one thing, I can't help but think they are going to figure out they don't need me and I'll be out of a job. For another thing, I like to be busy. Right now I spend half my time trying to look busy and either writing songs or doing little crossword puzzles. I enjoy those things but I feel sneaky and dishonest and I don't like it. I'd rather just have work to do.

So I went to the boss earlier this week and told him I can do more. I thought maybe he might like to delegate some job he was stuck with or have me go help some other people around the shop. I did mention that I have some office skills too. I thought maybe they could send me to the office for a couple hours of data entry or filing every day or whatever.

Anyway, long story short, it turns out they really do need some serious help in the office and for the next 2 weeks I am filling in full-time at the position of - get this - Engineering Coordinator. It's not that someone is away - they need to hire someone. So as far as I'm concerned, I am auditioning for the permanent position.

I don't know; there's probably a lot more to the actual Engineering Coordinator job than just the Excel database tidy-up that I'll be doing; they are probably looking for a University degree and possibly some Managerial experience (which I actually have in a previous life) but anyway, we'll see how it goes.

I really have no interest in seeing it. There hasn't been a movie that I've been excited to see in several years.

Departed was probably the last one.

main reason is I have no insurance and not paying $500+ for some foking antibiotics since theres no anti-venom

after some researching I found that the recluse venom isnt as potent as everyone thinks it is.
only a small % get sick from it or the skin starts to die around the bite.
only deaths reported that I found were children that got bit.


and you dont feel the bite... it feels like an ant bite and starts itching.... but wake up next day with a puss filled blister and soreness around it. after the second day of soreness and a puss filled blister that wouldnt stop oozing I decided to look online for different spider bites

Muddy, I didn't know you when this was a relevant topic but, is oral sex actually sex and is it cheating? Also, did Clinton bang Monica? If you were married to Hilary would you bang Monica?

Yes oral sex is sex and yes it is cheating. I don't know if Clinton banged Monica. I did not follow that situation very closely.

Similar to the OJ Simpson trial. To this day I have no strong opinion on if he was guilty. I mean, more people whose opinions I respect say he was guilty than not, so I definitely lean that way, but I only know the broad strokes of what actually happened. Something about some gloves and a racist cop. :dunno:

However I don't even remember hearing opinions on whether or not Clinton banged Monica. I have picked up on a general acceptance of the oral situation but that's it.

As for me, I think if I was approached by Monica or Hilary about banging I would just do a crossword puzzle or write a song.
