I wouldn't want to ride on that road...you'd probably get ran over!

I haven't touched my bicycle since my last drunken attempt sometime last summer.

You're supposed to ride a bike on the road and with the flow of traffic.

Cars coming out of cross streets and driveways are expecting people walking on sidewalks not bikes moving quickly.

Most bike fatalities occur when cyclists are not wearing helmets and riding on the sidewalk.


I'm pretty sure that zero people here will agree with me but the stats don't lie.

I'm not riding my bike on that road pal.

I only ride on the road where there is a bicycle lane, and there are plenty here.

Also lots of bike paths.

I don't doubt it. I often ride on the sidewalk when it seems to be obviously the safer option. But I notice you have to be very careful approaching an intersection even when you have a green light. Cars are turning right and you have to make sure they are stopping and that you make eye contact.

Even being aware of this I've sometimes felt I'm leaving too much to chance. I'm assuming the driver is paying attention and he might not be :dunno:
