So a Win 4...you picked winner in four straight races right?

Were you freaking out a bit after hitting the first three?

Yes, have to pick 4 straight winners to hit the win4.

I was not excited until after the 3rd leg as I was only live on two horses out of ten, one was a 1-1 favourite and the other horse was 25-1 and the longshot won by a cunthair in a photo over a horse I did not have.

I had every horse going in the last leg of the wager ( a nice situation to be in) , the win 4's were paying $1900 on the favourite (the worst possible outcome when you have the field) which would have netted me $800, I had a 30-1 longshot win the last race and it was the second highest possible payout ($30,000 - was the highest).

Since I spent $148 on $0.20 tickets and had it for $0.40 (payouts are listed for $1 wager) I got just over $9200.

Usually the favourite wins when I have an *all* ticket in the last leg ( and pays the lowest possible payout) but I lucked out with this longshot.

That excited me.

(My $50 wager on the CFL game is winning but I'm not excited about that).

How do they handle the taxes?

Gambling wins in Canada are tax free sir, same goes for the casinos, lotteries, & jackpot wins.
