Is it weird that I'm not necessarily rooting for USA in this game?

I prefer the Canadian superstars (and Russian) to the USA players in the NHL. They are better players in general obviously as it is their number 1 sport.

Also, I don't think we'd appreciate the Gold Medal as much as Canada would. If the game was on at the same time as American Idol, Idol would win the ratings handily.

Canada meanwhile is paying higher than Super Bowl prices to attend this game. Their entire country will be watching on TV. It just would feel weird if we won, IMO.

I'd equate it to Kentucky playing Elon in the National Championship in College Basketball. Kentucky should win because our fans care about it more and has much more talent.

Again, as in '02 the luck fuck Canadians get to avoid Sweden.

You mean the Sweden that lost to Belarus and Slovakia? Yeah, those Swedes are terrifying to us. What a huge break to avoid those devastating guys.

:clueless:

Yes, exactly. Sweden matches up well against Canada. It was a huge break. 7-1 dog Slovakia was.

I like Patrick Kane.

None of you guys ever got drunk and stiffed a cabbie or escort? Give the kid a break. It doesn't mateer how much money he has, it's the principle that maybe the cab guy was a dick or whatever. This incident got way too much coverage. Also people compare the way his mouthgard hangs from his mouth to the way Michael Jordan sticked out his tongue. Kind of a cool trademark.

The US have really closed the gap on Canada in terms of talent. Take look at the the World Juniors or the under 18's. The difference is not many people pay attention to those things in the US.

Nope, never stiffed a cabbie or an escort...or a restaurant or a hotel. It's just not in my character to act like such a dirtbag, so even when I'm drunk I settle up with whomever I might be in debt to for the evening.

I find having integrity to be a joy unto itself.

Alot of teams have closed the gap. One of the reasons is that the better players from many countries play their junior careers in the Canadian Hockey Leagues, especially the OHL.

That's not true Jew!!!

Many euros play their Junior careers in all 3 Canadian major junior leagues and not especially the OHL.

The OHL is the largest league, they have the most imported players. You don't think these kids do a little research before they come over?
It would be safe to say that if given the choice, a Russian kid would rather play his hockey in Kitchener, or London than say Saskatoon or Brandon.

Pucky, I thought you were sharp, but sharp guys have more than one book funded at the same time - you are obviously pissed at your missed opportunities due to Pinnacle being down for so long.

Silly cunt, whats the problem, no Moneygram locations near the trailer park? :cigar:

Mr Off, I expect you to behave normally come Monday when the hangover wears off.

Good day, sir. :cigar:

Excellent.

Just like clockwork the canuckians are fighting with each other and dismantling from the interior.

No wonder WE are the superior nation.

RS, where always a total saint when you were a teenager?

I try to exhibit some type of integrity these days. But Ive been involved in similar situations when I was 19-20.

The USA are a tough team with a 5-0 record coming off a big win. They have good forechecking that could create some problems, and goaltending that brings back unsettling memories of Richter in the 1996 World Cup. This is not a game I feel comfortable about.

Should be good.

Small play on the US to win in regular time for me at +280.
Should be a good game.
