I hope so. I think part of his sounding weak was that he hasn't heard from his "girlfriend" in a few days. She is younger than me, lives in another state and only comes to visit/calls when she wants money. I'd like to bitch slap her.

Oh yeah this would be a pay increase. Not to mention some really cool perks. The job itself would be a challenge. So many issues that really aren't day to day anywhere else. LOL

Damn, I'd bitch slap her too! Disgusting how some can take advantage of other people...it's just too bad he can't see it.

What are the other perks to the job?

IAG
Nina..sorry to hear that your good news is tempered with the bad stuff. How long would your parents have been married?
My folks were married 55 years when dad died....sad now with the Alz, mom hardly remembers anything about those years.

Terrible about Mr Nina's dad's gf. People who take advantage of the elderly are scum of the earth. It's so hard to watch your parents age.

Best of luck with everything! Job sounds intriguing. Would you be comfortable being further away from your mom/his dad?

Would have been 47 years. We are grateful that he didn't suffer. He was diagnosed with MS in April and then cancer 30 days before he died. It was so quick. It has been an adjustment and we all are still adjusting.

Yes, I would be ok with being in Orlando. We would only be a few hours away via air. Mr. Nina has his pilot license and has a twin prop Cessna. I am the co-pilot/passenger who sings La Bamba.

She is a piece of work. He has already changed his will cutting his children out and leaving all his possessions to her. You would think she might pay him a bit of attention to ensure that he doesn't change it back as he has thought about doing.

As for the perks? Wellllllll....the job is with Disney. It is a corporate position. So there would be some massive discounts for families. Not to mention the awesomeness of being about to say that your boss is Mickey Mouse.

to a certain degree I can understand. As Mr. Nina said, it is his stuff and it isn't like he would ever go back and live in that house. Mr. Nina's brother stopped having anything to do with their father about 2 years ago. I don't have a lot of respect for the brother. Neither does Mr. Nina. But I do feel it was wrong in regards to the grandchildren. But that is just my opinion and I typed the will up as he wanted so he was happy.

Yeah this is true, but I just figured he'd want to leave something sentimental for his kids/grandkids to remember him by at the very least. That's a damn shame about the brother, at least he's got you two!

there is a HUGH difference in the brothers. Mr. Nina's dad was career Navy. His mom was Japanese. They met while he was stationed in Japan. Mr. Nina was born there. There is almost 10 years difference in ages. A lot of was expected of Mr. Nina, being the Number One Son and he was raised occordingly. He has a Master's degree. His brother has a GED. Mr. Nina entered the Marine Corp. His brother dropped out of high school. After he got out of the Marines, Mr. Nina worked as a cop and paramedic to put himself through school. His brother ALWAYS has a workman's comp case going on and seems to just want to draw a check, if ya know what I mean. Mr. Nina's nephew recently joined the Marines and now his parents are spazzing out because he is being sent overseas. They can't do that to their baby!! Well....yeah they can. That's what Marines do. Now not to say that Mr. Nina is perfect. He has 3 failed marriages while his brother has been married 27 years (I think).

Mr. Nina's dad has his issues. There are times he drinks way too much vodka and gets belligerent. But the man fought in the Korean War, Vietnam War plus other conflicts. He was part of the SEALs for that time frame. There is no telling what all he has seen and been through. You just have to be patient with him. And he responds well to pretty ladies with big boobies. *grins*

lol, go nina!

My friends dad was in the Vietnam war, had a pretty intense flash back a couple years ago and was just bawling....I felt so horribly bad for the man. We (his wife and I) sat with him through it though....ugh....so heartbreaking.

Nina...In the process of my chuck crusade I came up on a very nice and unusual Alabama Sweatshirt that I have not been able to part with. I'll try to figure out how to post a picture and if you want it, it's yours. I probably only wore it once or twice. I'm guessing you probably have a huge collection of Bama wear, but I thought I would give you right of first refusal.

You are
right

Large differences are readily apparent when you have such an age gap between siblings. My oldest brother is 18 years older than me...the youngest is 12 years older. It's like we lived in 2 separate families. They were gone at college during most of my formative years. Needless to say, I was "unexpected."

I am really irked by Mr.Nina's dad's gf though. Is he of sound mind and understand that he has cut out his family? How long has he known this woman? Why do they not marry? She should be embarrassed and refuse that situation (the will) Sounds like an Anna Nicole Smith move. . Money should be kept in the family unless there is just some crazy family dynamic or bad feelings/relationship with the sons and it doesn't sound like that is the case.

his dad has asked her to marry him. I am not sure what the excuse...I mean reason she has for not marrying him. Well other than the fact she lives in KY, is from around AL and has family down here that she also comes to visit. Most of the more valuable assets have already been given to the brothers. And Mr. Nina said if there was anything of sentimental value one of his kids wanted he would just take it.
