One question is: how often do you think aimlessly? And how often are you consciously directing your thoughts?

Ike, thats more than one question pal. How not thoughtful of you to sugggest it was only one.

I think aimlessly more than I think constructively.

I am always consciously directing my thoughts, except when I'm unconscious, then I subconsciously direct my conscious thoughts.

I think it can be said that if you're thinking aimlessly you're not always directing your thoughts.

........... and in other news, the Pope is Catholic. ;)

Last night I kinda freaked out and thought that the entire history of mankind, and everything that I know, was all a farce, and that everytime that I thought that I had it figured out, the memories would be vanquished and it would all start again. I wasn't sure if this was some greater being's idea of a good time. Or if I was an enemy of his and we were doing battle on some ridiculous celestial battle ground. Or if I was dead and this was my own personal eternal hell.

Man what a blast.

Eloquent put. I learned that word on gambling forums.

Sounds like the thought process behind Lost.

An empty thought is the possibility of a thought, I'd think. A placeholder for an eventual thought, a thought bin. So no, I don't think of an empty thought as a thought.

(There might be traces of previous thoughts if you scrape the bottom of the bin - I tend to be sloppy with the housekeeping.)
