I would say that Times Square is the subway/local transit hub. I think on sheer numbers of subways running there it wins. As far as far as transportation totals it is definitely Penn. That place sees 10mil people twice a day. Think about that. You go to a sold out ball game of 45,000 people and this place sees over 200x that, most of them in a short 3 hour period. Then they see those people again later in the day.

Union square is def 2nd to Times Square for local travel, but its spliting hairs. I was there today and it is a mess underground transfering from the NQR to the 456, TONS of people.

It will be interesting to see the new Fulton St. transit center when that opens, should userp both US and TS as #1.

Of course I am partial to thinking Downtown Brooklyn/Brooklyn Heights is #1 for local transit. 2,3,4,5,A,C,F,M,R,G... but thats Brooklyn.

So..My current roommate and I have finally secured an apartment for the long term. No more tedious craigslist searches and sublets for me. We found our new place through a no fee realtor and it is in the best location yet, just a few blocks from Union Square. For those who don't know, US is the main epicenter for transit in NYC. Very convenient to get to and from any subway or bus here, and there are plenty of shops, bars, and restaurants. Also US is a cool park to hang out and people watch at.

Anyways, the Apt. is a 3bd/2bth. The two of us signed the lease but we need to find a third within the next week. We are posting CL ads to find the lucky tenant. It is nice to be on the other side of the table for this process. It can be very frustrating when you need to find a place and you are up against a lot of competition here. The majority of the time, your emails are not even responded to.

NOW I know why that is. I have probably gotten 30 emails in the last 12hours since posting the ad. We have made multiple appointments via 15 minute time slots, to show off the place tonight. Should be interesting. We are having fun looking at all the prospective tenants FB profiles and trying to figure out what kind of person it is going to be. Such as: "I bet you that guys an h-mo" "I bet that girl will end up giving one of us an HJ the first week" "That dude looks a little too ethnic".. etc.

Pics coming soon.
welcome to my old hood!
