This is a new feature of OS Lion. But she doesnt have said OS, and I see nothing of the sort on my computer. probably only works on apple sofware

There is a way to have backups in Word as well. Go to Word Options/Advanced/Save and check Always create backup copy...

Hmm. That's a DVD though. You'd probably have to burn it first.

Yeah. Mounting drives just to install an app that you'll probably never use again is a pain in the ass though.

While you're in the settings, you should see where it saves autorecovery files and see if there's a file in that directory (folder) that you could possibly revert to...

it doesnt say where they save them, just if you want to or not. more mac bs. i lost connection to her computer anyway.

And you already have it installed and you're familiar with media emulation. Not to mention that you linked to Daemon Tools which isn't available for the Mac.

If it were an ISO image, OS X can convert it without software. However, I'm not sure what format the image actually is.
