Anyone else every have problems with this? I haven't for a while, but woke completely dizzy, room spinning...did not go away with time....barely able to function. Seemingly came out of nowhere.. Seems like one time it lasted for weeks and was gone. Only thing I can think is I didn't eat much/very well this week but I can't imagine that would cause this sudden and intense ongoing of an issue. I am decreasing my Ativan also ...only couple things I can put together. If you have had this would like to hear what might have caused, how long it lasted, etc...

Otherwise I will scour the net and be back in an hour convinced I have had a stroke, or have a brain tumor.

IAG, dad much older but gets it every couple months and takes meds when he does! Goes away after a day or two!

As for myself as older once in awhile feel mildly like I can't stand up but have self discovered it's from being slightly dehydrated and a bottle of water quickly resolves it! Was very scary 1st time it did happen!

Do you know what kind of meds he takes? I did drink a ton of water this morning...I thought like you said, it could be dehydration though I am usually pretty good about pushing fluids. I don't know, but it's always scary...even if you know it's nothing "serious." ..especially if lasts more than a day or two.

Been dealing with it daily for over a year now. It hits me at very predictable moments. The biggest triggers are when I suddenly start and stop walking and when I sit in a room full of loud people.

I'm treated for high blood pressure but it hasn't had any effect on the vertigo.

I guess you just learn to deal with it. Oddly, it doesn't affect my balance when doing things like playing ping pong and riding a motorcycle. It feels like I should be useless at anything that requires good balance, but no. I do feel unsteady/disoriented when I quickly come to a stop either on the bike or in a car. It's more freaky than anything.
