I've been trying to read up on it and apparently a difference between dizziness and vertigo though I haven't figured it out yet. Strangest thing ever..it's scary and I do NOT like it. I am wondering how long I should give it before going to have it checked out. I guess it can be a viral thing and runs its course in a few weeks? WTH? Seems like I just get one thing taken care of and it's always something else. Matty do you know difference between vertigo and dizziness?...seems like whole room is spinning and I can't get up out of bed ..like falling out of bed into things...it's settled down now but still here. I know I have had this before long ago but can't remember anything about it...Now that I think about it, I may have had a thread at SP about it lol...maybe i'll go check.

If you have vertigo please take your medications. No need to play russian roulette with life.
I am not sure if this is a general statement, or directed to me.......I don't have any medications for vertigo. I take Ativanfor sleep, but was directed by my physician to decrease my dosage by 1/3 starting last week. It is a very powerful drug and I was prescribed it for sleep about 7 years ago. Apparently one is not to be on it for over a few weeks. (I am just reading this now...of course no prior physicians mentioned that to me.) I ended up taking full dosage plus 1/3 yesterday and it got much better...still feel off balance but I can move without walking into walls. I am not sure if they are related, but if so, doctor is going to have to figure out some other form of tapering schedule as I can't function like that. I am going to decrease the dosage again starting today...I guess I'll know in a few days if they are related.

I think vertigo is a somewhat common side-effect of most anti-depressants.

Dizziness is listed as a common side effect of Wellbutrin.
Maybe so but I have been on WB for a year now? ....never had a problem...weird. I mean this was not a little dizzy..this was like being on a tilt o whirl. It's better, but head feels fuzzy.

Yeah, that is weird. I sure would hate that.

I don't know if side effects can come on out of nowhere after being on a drug for that long. You did, somewhat recently, switch to generic and then back, right?

Yes, I had been on brand, then dr screwed up and put me on generic, then went back to brand but that was well over a month ago. I don't know. Maybe it's the redbull. I know this happened to me before several years ago...I remember being at the doctor but I don't believe I was prescribed anything...it's kind of fuzzy as to what she said and how long it lasted.

Wow. Ijust found a thread I started about it at sp on 11/15/11...."Woke up this morning with horrifying dizziness/vertigo"

Archie asked "Inner ear infection?" and I typed

I don't know....It came out of nowhere....scared the **** out of me....I've been dizzy before but not like this. Violent episodes....almost went to the ER but too freaked to drive. I'm just laying on the bed googling stuff and now I'm convinced I have like 10 different conditions.

DEJA VU!!!!! Same time of year....weird. I guess I won't worry about it too much..obviously it went away. ???

One of my bosses kept complaining for months about his vertigo. No one knew what was causing it. We found out on Friday he wasn't taking his prescribed medications. Now he is on the waiting list for assistant living.

Wow. But I'm confused...was the vertigo caused by not taking some medications or was the vertigo worsened because he did not take medication for the vertigo?

and if the former, do you know what the medications were?
