Feeling a tad bit emotional today boys.


Taking my 2 little ones down to the steam bath (Sun Life Stadium) one last time to say goodbye to the team that
brought us two World Championships in 19 years (hi Cubs fans).


So we will go. One last time to a stadium where most of the seats face center field and not home plate. To the
stadium that even when you have 30,000 people there, it looks completely empty. To the stadium where I was
in attendance for 4 World Series games and was there when Pudge held on to the ball after JT Snow did his best
Pete Rose impression.

RIP Florida Marlins.

Went to one game there probably 7 or 8 years ago. So damn hot.

Had a full beer sitting in the cup holder in front of me. Guy who is sitting a few seats down from us is walking through so I stand to let him by and he walks right into my cup holder thingy and the beer comes out and spills all over the ground. He looks down at it, and keeps going to his seat and sits down in between his wife and kid.

I sit there for about one minute taking in the fact that this guy didn't say sorry, didn't offer to reimburse me for my $8 beer. Nothing. Then I snapped. Snapped on him pretty badly in front of his wife and kid. THEN he apologized. What a POS. I still had to by myself another beer.

That's about all the memories I have of that stadium. Oh that and sitting in stagnant traffic for an hour and a half trying to get there.

Pudge was pretty cool though.
 
Last year I went to a couple games. My memory will be of the $4 ticket section by right field sun bathing.

One time me and jungleman went and he took his shirt off and and I had my button one open and they showed us in the big screen. That's it, that's my big memory of the stadium. Never a home run ball close by or any of the sorts.

I couldn't see shit from back there because I need glasses.

Being half serious, I'm going to assume that you've never watched a Marlins game in Miami. So you have zero connection to the
organization.

I on the other hand have been to approximately 80 games. Some of them were with my Dad, some of them were friends (some of
whom are no longer alive). I've seen NLDS/NLCS and four World Series games.

So it's safe to say that I'm slightly more emotionally invested in the Marlins.
