Las Vegas Bellagio robber caught in police sting

I have to plead a bit of ignorance here. I'm not familiar with the crime.

Why wouldn't he go back to the casino? Did they get a picture of his face when he was doing the robbery? Are casino chips marked?

i.e. - how did they know it was the guy?

Well they probably placed an ad in the Vegas paper saying would like to buy $25,000 chips at half price and the idiot responded and the cops set the trap where he had to go to the casino for the exchange.

the guy robbed the place while wearing a motorcycle helmet. After the crime, bellagio changed out their $25,000 chips. The ones moron stole were encoded so he could not cash them in. The crime was completely useless.

Using prostitutes. Offer the cashier sex for free.

As soon as the chips were stolen, they were unredeemable to anyone. They were completely worthless. The even sadder thing is that it was public knowledge in Vegas. The moron robber doesn't read the news. I hope they shoot him in the head just for his stupidity.

Casper I thought you were the comedian here. Let the poor guy tell a joke buddy.

What were the denomination? If small enough people have similar chips out. So the casino can't just ban all of the chips.
This would be a fun challenge. Carefully putting them into play gradually along with new buy ins would be my first thought.

The chips were $25,000 chips. Moron made it easy to render the chips obsolete.
