I thought that would probably be the case. Did the interview go a lot better than previous times?

Yes definitely.

You provide them with the topics and the previous times, the stuff I had was uninspired. I wasn't even really prepared. I got there and they said okay we need 5 anecdote topics so I jotted down shit about, I dunno, having songs published or the volunteer work I do or whatever I could think of off the top of my head. Then I just went up and reacted to however they decided to throw questions at me. There was probably a certain amount of humming and hawing and my natural way of speaking is just not energetic.

This time though, I thought about my topics carefully and came up with some funnier ideas and composed little anecdotes for each one. I practiced them on the drive there so I could rattle off my answers in a more assured energetic way.

The only nitpicky criticism I could make was that in parts, I possibly sounded too practiced. I mean, I wasn't like I was reading a script but it may have seemed like I was too obviously delivering anecdotes and not just having a normal natural conversation. But I'm okay with that. I'm happy with how it went.

I always skip that part when I play back recordings of the show.

nice to hear this. Sounds like it was a good time. They say Boston is the most European looking of all US cities. I wonder if I'll ever have a reason to go there.

It's a good looking city. There were a lot of things that caught my eye during the cab rides.

Not specifically but I did talk about making my living for several years as a professional gambler. If they had've let me continue to the end of my planned bit for that, I would have gotten to the part about how it has led me to meeting some colorful characters from around the world that I consider good friends today.

However they jumped in with some specific questions that took that off-track.

Road trip food is by far the worst part of any road trip in the US. The whole country should be covered with Tim Hortons. Common.

Muddy you shoulda done some sightseeing in Boston. Love that city.

Even where there are Timmy's they find a way to fuck it up.

I am still feeling off today, I think due to my fast-food eating the last couple days. I never stop to think about it but I am actually a very healthy eater. Not fancy but healthy.

Then suddenly it is nothing but burgers and drippy sandwiches and fries and more fries. The last couple days must have been quite an assault on the system.

I brought my camera but never thought to take any pictures. There wasn't much to see anyway. My room was a plain old hotel room and the Jeopardy thing was in a plain old hotel meeting room.
