Well if it's the other party's fault they are responsible for your repairs.

Liability protects the other party if it is your fault (which is mandatory to have here) Thats what you now have

What you had before, I believe, is the full coverage which protects your car if it is your fault. Also you probably had comprehensive which protects against theft, hail, vandalism. Those things usually come with deductibles

Bike costs me $780.

I don't own a car.

The dumbericans see $$$ and think it's USD when in fact you Canadian fellers are quoting in CAD.

It's important to compare apples to apples. Not that apples can insure your bike.
