Not sure about the upcoming genetic tests. Otherwise they cover everything, and whatever's not covered by the govt. is probably covered by my private plan.

Ouch man. My insurance premium is like 85 bucks a month for a hypothetical family of 4. Employer pays another 85.



(Of course, I lose 1/3 of my salary to taxes.)

Health coverage is provided by the provinces not by the federal government. If you are from one province and are in another province temporarily your health card is valid across Canada.

If you move from one part of the country to another you apply for coverage in your new province.

Having a baby in Canada is covered by the provincial health plans, there is no out of pocket cost for a woman to give birth, her child is also covered.

Low income families also receive monthly supplements for each child under 18 yrs old.
