When is the trip? Seems to me that you can charge in the casino to your room credit card. Kind of like a marker in Vegas, but you don't get 30 days to pay. Are you expected to gamble a certain amount per day? I assume no, but if you don't meet the expected rating, you won't get asked back.

Fuck sending them $5000 in advance. Wth. Never heard of anything like that...that would be like Vegas asking you do to that when giving you an RFB. Plus, if you have $5000 to send them, I wouldn't go...just pay a higher fare with the money and go on a non gambling cruise to a place with non gambling ports of call....much better time not having to sweat losing money and making a rating.....Unless you are a winning gambler. I have money management issues so would be -ev for me...7 days is a long time.

I don't mean to sound so negative. It will be a awesome experience to be on the ship. I loved my cruise...just sitting on the balcony with the ocean as far as you can see was the best.

The $5000 doesn't have to be spent. It's their way to see if you are going to gamble.

I'm not wiring them $5000.

The price if the 7 day cruise is still very very good.

The cruise is July 26th-4th.

For $509, I can't go wrong.

I understand it doesn't have to be spent, it's just odd. It's like putting up earnest money. If it ends up only costing $509, then no you can't go wrong.

I know you don't have to wire it. I'm just saying that usually you get an offer because of your gambling history. That is enough. I don't know about gambling "cruises" though. There has to be a reason they give you $300 more off if you flash 5k. They aren't just giving you $300 more off because you "show" $5000. They have already given you the offer based on history. I can see them doing that to give you the offer in the first place, but the additional deal is odd to me after they have given you the room. Maybe they don't want you to spend the 5k between now and then or something..There is some reason they want you to wire it, and it's not to establish that you will be gambling. It must be that they don't want you to lose it to someone else between now and then. They already know you are going to gamble.

Hey, come to think about it, I have never heard of a gambling cruise on bigger ships with major cruiselines. I mean, that whole ship is not full of gamblers on that cruise. so it's not designated a "gambling cruise" for the general population.

Did you know this guy who called or know he was legit? Sounds like a perfect scam to pull on a gambler. Or maybe they just fill the ship like that and try to bill it that way...but that wiring money thing still seems weird. Just be careful.

Of course I'm always paranoid and suspicious...but usually with good reason.

It's all legit. Its Royal Caribbean. I talked to them about it. Many gamblers wire the $$ to them. I'm not forced to play it.

They give gamblers better rates to fill the boats.
You called Royal Carribean directly? If so then I guess you are good. Make sure any credit card you gave is run thru them and not any agency..that's the only thing I would say. So many cruise scams out there..just be careful.

can you imagine being stuck on a gambling boat with Casper for 6.5 days after he losses all of his money in the first 12 hrs?

Casper don't take your laptop on the bus to the cruise
He won't be able to get service. And the cost to use the on ship one is OBSCENE ...same with the phone. Do you have a current passport?

Oops Archie..I see now you said on the bus... Yeah losing money in first day would suck...especially when the drinks are not free except in the casino.

$25 for 40 minutes of wifi on ship

Wow. I didn't know about the "closed loop" exception on the passport thing.. good to know. ..I had to get one for Mexico which was a "closed loop.": Just don't miss the ship or you may have a hell of a time getting home without a passport. I would bring a birth certificate as well if you are not bringing a passport.

lol. You didn't have to post your fake confirmation and spoofed RC phone #...I believe you! lol. Kidding. I would have RJ take that down though...someone could fuck with u...cancel it or something..I dk. Again...paranoid.

Seriously, the phone/net thing may have changed but I doubt it...You are in the middle of the Ocean! I wouldn't plan on having much contact with the outside world if any for a week.

McBaseball I meant to ask how your cruise was.. Are you now able to get phone/net on the ships now without selling a kidney? One lady who sat in dining with us told us she told people if someone died while she was away to just call and say "name and dead" and hang up...that's how expensive it is to call. lol

I bet that ship has a hell of a night club on it.
