say hello to my people

Arrived at the hotel about an hour ago. I took the maglev from the airport into town and despite it only being a 12 minute journey, it topped out at 267mph which I guess would make it the fastest train (if it is a train at all?) in the world. Quite a machine!

I am going to watch football (Tottenham v Arsenal) and then sleep for a couple of hours.
After breakfast I am going to go for a walk into the old town (taxi if it is still raining), not looking for anything in particular.

I am due to go for a tour the port in the afternoon (in a previous life, I was involved in the container shipping business) with a former colleague.

Not much of a blog.

I couldn't really enjoy when I was there many years back. I was too busy, angry, frustrated during my six-weeks stay. I almost felt I was shanghaied. But, it also gave me the opportunity to see the works of Guy Bourdin, a French Vogue photographer.
