Me and my wife are going to have a nice quiet Thanksgiving with no other family for the first time with no other family. First time in the 18 years that we've been married. I'm actually going to be able to drink during football this year cause I don't have to drive 2 hours to get home. Gonna be a nice weekend.
 
congratulations you made it.

This is a rare year where I don't blow my family off to do what I want and going to my father's to hang with family. Borrrrrrringggg. At least I won't feel guilty saying I have plans the next 5 years now.
 
This was my facebook update this morning:

"There are six children from ages 3-12 in this house. Someone is practicing violin upstairs and someone else is playing piano and is being helped by one or more kids that either are less advanced or not taking lessons.....oh wait....yes, someone else just added a whistle.

It's 8:00 in the morning. *sigh* It's going to be a long day."

For just one day guys try looking at things from "the glass is half full" perspective. Cynical is funny and we have 364 days a year to be as cynical and sarcastic as we want. Let's take one day and truly appreciate the good things we have or are a part of. Except Herman, give him as much cynicism as you feel he's worth.

I'm gonna spend most of the day playing COD: Black Ops. Game is sick.
 
Prior to last year, I would always go to my family's Thanksgiving in Ohio. My family is the rare family in that everybody enjoys being around one another. We play cards, drink, eat well and watch football. Very little complaining about the world's problems and just mostly people catching up with one another.

Last year we went to a Thanksgiving gathering (in Miami) that did not have cable, turkey, or beer. I wanted to shoot myself. This year, we will be entertaining. My wife is a chef and will be preparing three cornish hen, turkey, and a whole host of other delectables. I will be relaxing, watching football and drinking all the beer I can handle. I will also be betting on all the games just so I can have action. I will be thankful if I don't lose all of my bets.

then to the in-laws after lunch
I will be thankful when I'm home and can watch football and eat the leftover pecan pie
 
Thanksgiving is usually considered "V" day ... Vicodin , Vodka and Very fucking annoying people...

my sis in laws mother decided to make arrangements for our family at the holiday inn banquet room on campus ...without bothering to ask anyone first... besides the fact i have to be around the phones most of the day, who in the fuck would want to go to a thanksgiving buffet with hundreds of people and sit around in hard fold out chairs and without any tv's around to watch sports??? :clueless: i politely told her i was spending the entire day with the gf and her family and wouldnt make it and to please ask us first before making such a big family decision on her own next time...i got no idea what that dumb bitch was thinking...

no clue what i will be eating at the gf's, but im sure it will be fine. then we are going to party downtown for a while and then to stay the night at the casino...it should be a nice break from the normal idiocy that i deal with on thanksgiving day.
