Played football, basketball, baseball in high school. NCAA D3 baseball in college. Not in game shape at the moment but still below my playing weight.

what positions? you didn't play any teams from the Pa area did ya?

Shortstop.

Scored 48 runs in one game vs. La Roche college in PA. Allegheny was a great rivalry. Washington and Jefferson was good opponent. Will try to think of more PA schools we played against.

Must have been alot of sore butts that day! Eh!

I was gonna ask if you played around there

I was at Grove City, played center, ss, and rp my soph season... but I also was trying to do javelin for track..

I did something very bad to my arm in one of my first track practices when we go outdoors. so I never made it onto the team...

were you around when Matt Clement was playing?

never mind the Matt Clement comment. he couldn't play in college I forgot...

but allegheny has had some talented players come out of there, like josh sharpless,

that's awesome...blast from a past some of those names...

Hoagland played first and was our chaplain, Kashurba (also our schools qb at one point), conaway, Gerber was a huge dude... had like 17 inch arms back then..

great stuff!!!!

I played right field in a few games my freshman year. Remember the game vividly after seeing the boxscore.

I can't believe they gave you a run for you money like that!!!!

I also played college baseball so you guys are bumming me out cause I still to this day miss playing.

Immor, perhaps you missed the post where I talked about playing softball? I miss it too pal. Once you've played competitively, it's hard to mimic the rush. Doesn't matter what level you play.

I didn't play..... only worked out during the winter one year, but go injured

might not even have been good enough for d-3 but no reason not to try right?

I did stick with track though, and to this day I still have a javelin and a shot put...almost got it out a few times the last few days.

yeah the glory days.... they'll pass us by!!!! in the blink of a young girl's eye

Yeah I played softball for a few years after I got done playing but became stale for me for a few reasons. I was there to try to hit it far as I could and then go drink some beers after. We played on fields with no fences so once the other team figured out how far I could hit it, they would play so deep it was impossible to hit it over their head. Also, was there to just relax and have fun so I could not stand the guys who were trying to live out there dream of playing sports by acting like slow pitch is Game 7 of the World Series. Wearing full uniforms and shit. I use to tell my buddies, I am not sliding. If you want to pinch run for me that's fine. Otherwise, unless I can make it to the next base standing up, I am not going.

good stuff Morty!!!

McB and Morty what is the furtherest you think you ever hit a ball? what pitch was it off? what else do you remember about it

how hard were you guys able to throw? what is your best off-speed pitch... even if you didn't actually pitch past 12 years old

I was a light hitting defensive specialist (.298 hitter) in college but hit some HR in legion ball. Probably 360 ft was max for me. I topped out at 89. Had a great circle changeup as as pitcher in high school.

12 years old was my glory days as a pitcher. Threw a no-hitter to win regionals and go to states in Ohio.
