They were the Don Sutton of comedians - they hung on far longer than they should have and were not funny during that time.

The question attempts to translate a matter of personal taste to absolute truth. Might as well just ask which is ACTUALLY better, dogs or cats?

Phillip Seymour Hoffman's death had a million times the impact on me as Joan Rivers and Robin Williams combined.

That's what I thought, but I have learned so much about her career in the last few days. I didn't realize she beat out Oprah and Donahue for an Emmy...was the only permanent fill in replacement for Carson...etc etc..


I also didn't realize she ended on bad terms with JC (Carson not Jesus)
