That you can't do (youtube videos), I thought you meant MP3's and videos on your hard drive, youtube has to go though the youtube player.....my guidance for you would be to get a cheap set of amplified PC speakers like these....you'll be :dude:

did the hippo thing and updated all suggested
so far YT is working better, no lagging

Programs like adobe will run continuous update checking. When you download programs, do so manually/custom. You want to uncheck anything that says allow for auto updates (except windows and virus protection). The file hippo will check for these wen you start up. I assume you have some of these that run at startup, they will slow down your computer big time.
