That you can't do (youtube videos), I thought you meant MP3's and videos on your hard drive, youtube has to go though the youtube player.....my guidance for you would be to get a cheap set of amplified PC speakers like these....you'll be

If you use firefox and want to download flash videos from youtube (or porn sites) I'd reccommend:

is there a free programs that will boast volume above default settings?

Programs like adobe will run continuous update checking. When you download programs, do so manually/custom. You want to uncheck anything that says allow for auto updates (except windows and virus protection). The file hippo will check for these wen you start up. I assume you have some of these that run at startup, they will slow down your computer big time.

I would download CCleaner, run that, then defrag your computer also, that should make it run much better. You can download from here http://www.pcmtechhelp.com/2011/11/02/downloads/. He has YouTube viders that will help you Senco.
