Couple of the young guys were having a conversation in the lunchroom the other day along the lines of, "Wow, can you believe NHL goalies used to play without a mask?"

Hell yeah. That shit was going on well into my lifetime.

Gray Coach Lines service to Port Credit began in 1927 - Hooper's Pharmacy on Lakeshore Road was the Gray Coach Lines agency in the community - from 1927, Hooper's Drug Store was located on the north side of Hwy 2 at 94 Lakeshore Road East, between Elizabeth & Helene Streets - in 1939, the business moved next door to 100 Lakeshore Road East - NOTE: the TTC also provided service between Toronto and Port Credit

TTC 1599 (1954 GMC, Model TDH-4512) signed for the Port Credit route at Long Branch Loop - 27 Mar 1955

Back in 1965; Star photographer Boris Spremo took this picture of the north-east corner of Bloor and Yonge Sts. It shows a street car passing the old Royal building

My first Toronto apt was a 2-min walk away. I remember when I caught my first glimpse of the store while walking along Bloor, it was pretty surreal. Even more surreal when I stepped inside.

It'll definitely feel like a part of my Toronto died when it closes. Place was magical.

My great grandmother was a regular at Ed's from the time it opened. She would wait in line for the bargains just like they show in the photos.

Woodstock was in my lifetime. Here's Richie Havens doing something good but a bit too jarring for some occasions:

Actually, a Youtube playlist would probably be simplest. Bring a laptop and charger.

Question about this. I have done this, thinking it would be a back up plan - but I am at a loss figuring out how to work this mp3 player (ipod). So this Youtube thing may become plan A.

So my question is: will Youtube suddenly start inserting a bunch of ads? I'm not getting any right now as I play it - it flows from song to song - but might that start unexpectedly?

Okay so I have an adblocker and I guess that's the reason for no ads. I see some visual ads - banners that come up - but that doesn't matter.

The adblocker I have is a different one. Should I add that one as well?
