This is true. Kids don't learn the basics of soccer or work on skills in junior high or high school and then they go to college where there are no coaches with pro-experience in Europe or Latin America so when they graduate from college they lack the skills and experience guys like Messi and Ronaldo which were playing for major pro teams and national level teams since they were 15-16 years old.

The MLS draft is a joke. By the time you are 21, 22 you have no chance against Europeans who have been in academies since they were 10. Yes, La Masia is an extreme example but there really isn't a comparison in America.
