Many liberals I talk to thinks these are all staged shootings to make Trump's numbers go up. I don't think even the best marksman could have timed that ear shot in conjunction with Trump moving his head at that exact moment. More importantly, I don't think Trump is coordinated enough to move his head at the exact right moment and also agree to *almost* get shot in the head.

I remember a certain Gameliver telling me words matter. I didn't disagree with that. But yeah, words matter. Like calling people with political opinions you disagree with Nazis. This is the loop. Institutions create the moral frame, radicals act on it, and media feeds the frame back into politics.

And, surely, the words of the POTUS with his power and platform carry a whole lot more weight than randos on the internet do, right?

Obviously it's not all his fault. But he has fanned these flames of hate and division and disrespect pretty damn relentlessly.
