Exactly RC! The BS from these GL liberals will never end! Unfortunately with the lies that's comes out of this US government regime's mouths what safer than doing your own research. Does anyone these days listen to what the top doc Fauci has to say? :clueless:

Funny how Joe had to get his wife the Doctor on the road having to sell the snake oil to the uneducated. Did you hear any of her dialogue. It was more like demanding than suggesting people get the vaccine. And with Kamala having little to do, why not our 2nd in command do it instead? Can't do that since she have to admit how great of a job Trump did in getting the vaccine out as quickly as he did.
Remember this RC! I like how she singled out Fauci while talking about trusting medical professionals.

It's depressing that we're at a point that sucking the nuts of the establishment is considered cool, and any independent thought is considered ignorance. Like these guys are proud of it :dunno:
Furthermore, the supposed ignoramuses, are some vaguely defined group of fellow countrymen, who are the root of all our problems. Scary stuff :yikes:

We should all stop talking to each other forever because we don’t agree 1000% on every current event and policy!

What BS from the GameLive liberals?

That the science and numbers back up the safety and efficacy of the vaccine?

You are sensitive about what, Matty Rain posting an internet meme and me posting a political cartoon it reminded me of?

So GL liberals suck and the government sucks. It's all about "doing your own research". Cool. I'd be thrilled to discuss your research. Where is it? If you can provide links to the scientific research you've been doing on why getting the vaccine is a bad idea, I'd love to read it. I'm open-minded and willing to learn. Please, enlighten me on the research.

Reno got the vaccine, so his research must have lead him to believe that it was the better option over not getting it. I'm right there with you that Biden is a shithead and the government is overreaching, but that doesn't change the science or the overwhelming apolitical support the vaccine has worldwide. Exactly what BS is never ending?

I always think it’s so bizarre that the Trump cultists can’t wrap their brains around that fact that I despise Trump (while agreeing with some of his policies) and I think Biden is a career politician shit head (while agreeing with some of his policies).

Yep. It's an evolutionary thing... the human brain is only built to manage so much information. Stereotyping and generalizing is just a convenient shortcut for our brains. Instead of trying to think of every single person we meet as an infinitely complex unique individual capable of having complex thoughts on a variety of issues... we just throw them into a bin that makes them easier to process.

George Carlin said it best. "People are wonderful. I love individuals. I hate groups of people."

I find it odd that you would post that, because I too am a big fan of that quote. To me the coronavirus crowd, with the lockdowns, the fearmongering, the blaming, the vaccine shaming, is exactly the mob Carlin has in mind. I've never known him to be an establishment lackey. Would have been curious to hear his take on the current state of events. I'm guessing he would have been blacklisted

I mean it's pretty telling to me that you can't see how bad the anti-vax mob is. I'm happy to admit the media/govt etc deserves its share of the blame, but you seem to be so entrenched in your mob that you feel victimized, "the other side is wrong", etc.

Like antivaxxers arent spreading misinformation, getting people sick and killed, shaming mask wearers and people getting vaxxed, etc etc. You don't think this goes both ways?

Yes my research, ie my impression from the various sources I've heard and my impression how vaccines/the government/the world work, led me to conclude that it's likely better for me personally to get it than not, on the whole.
That includes the idea that I'm tired of debating it with myself, the notion that one could become a second class citizen without one, and the overall thought that, I'm not really aiming to outlive everybody, in case it turns out to have unforseen longterm effects.

But that doesn't mean I'm gonna claim it's right for everybody, or that I know more than they do about their own situation. What these little cutesy memes do is encourage conformity and a sense of feeling superior to others. It's a very very ugly thing imo. And the fact that they're explicitly saying "don't question or do own research" should be a big red flag.
But it's not :wha:

No, maybe we move in different circles. But seems to me that if there is anyone demanding others not take vaccine, or trying to exclude the vaccinated, they are a very fringe and powerless group.

They are NOT saying don't question or do your own research. They are mocking that people constantly use this phrase/excuse when it doesn't mean anything. For the vast majority of people, "doing their own research" just means listening to what Fox News and their Facebook Groups are saying. That's the punchline, not doing research.

It's very ugly to post cutesy memes "Feeling superior to others"? Isn't that a huge part of what the anti-vax movement is based on? That everyone else is conformists and sheep? That these people KNOW BETTER than the scientific and medical communities? Please, Reno.

You really believe that there is some fringe movement that's saying vaccines shouldn't be taken, and people are so busy listening to it, that they never get to see all the pro vax experts? I watch some fox news and more radical stuff, and I heard a lot of experts that go against the prevailing blame your neighbor narrative. I still doubt I saw anyone on a show who claims vaccines don't work, or that no one should take them.

And btw, doing your own research doesn't mean running a study in my basement. It simply means examining a wide range of sources, and jelling them with your own understanding and experience. Everyone does their own research in a way. But more should be encouraged, not mocked.

That was like a whole huge thing a couple of months ago.
