what do we think about big trial?

An APM Reports investigation finds that officers in some big cities rated Tasers as unreliable up to 40 percent of the time, and in three large departments, newer models were less effective than older ones. In 258 cases over three years, a Taser failed to subdue someone who was then shot and killed by police.
Supports attempting to use non lethal force as a precursor to lethal force. Even better. Good cite, thanks arch.

No reason that's a deadly force situation. Taser works great there.
Not a great take like I’m normally used to from my Boner.

Those probes (there’s 2 of them that come out) can have a wide spread.

More importantly, if someone is ACTIVELY trying to KILL someone, the incident automatically graduates to deadly force becoming necessary.

But it's just a little knife, Tron. 🤪

(You can slash someone's jugular with your car keys.)

Why do people become experts whenever it’s time to Monday morning QB an action a cop had ONE SECOND to decide?

it’s not complicated

if the officer shows up and the female is not actively attempting to KILL someone but is holding a life and refusing to immediately drop it, tasing is an option

If the officer shows up and someone is actively attempting to KILL someone, it is the officers duty to terminate the threat. Any hesitation on the part of the officer could result in someone getting murdered in the officers presence and that’s a big no no

Pisses me off, man.

The fuckin guy had the most stressful day of his career, he made the correct decision, stopped the threat (without shooting the person being stabbed) and millions of people think he’s an asshole who should lose his job.

can't win. either way.

you got out at the right time. timing is everything.

what got me was how fast it happened. Like 10-12 secs after he got out of car

when I saw the video in real time. It took me like 4 repeats to even figure out what happened even using the pause

the cop only knows that he is called there for a woman that is attempting to stab people.

for all he knows there are already multiple stab victims and even dead people in the house, on the side of the house, or behind the house. a obviously enraged large female has actively tried to stab two people in about 8 secs in front of you, people are kicking people in the head. It's chaos, the female is seeing red so not going to listen to any orders or attempts to de escalate

even given the benefit of all the info we have now, hindsight, slow mo ect I'm not sure the correct action

I would not wish that decision on any police officer

I know I would have froze up and not been able to process all that info

that guy was a good marksman though

when we think of active shooter situations that happen so much and even the mass stabbings (that occur more in foreign countries)

we all try to think how we would react and many take on the idea that they would spring into action to save people and neutralize the situation.

if she had stabbed 2,3,4 people and he hadn't reacted. he'd be vilified as well.

I'm with Daffy on this one. He has the experience and training and second guessing him would not be right. I used to be a bus driver and am not qualified in any way whatsoever on police matters. I trust the pro's.

Reno, any questions?

 so Chauvin and the boys, Rodney King crew and all the other pricks had no experience and training. That's why they can be questioned. Your boot lickering is pretty impressive

I'm saying I trust those that are trained for the jobs they do, ie medical advice from doctors, car repairs from a mechanic, legal advice from a lawyer etc. Not saying they can't be questioned, as a matter of fact I might question them myself because i'm not an expert and value their expertise over yours.

boot lickering? Is that a bad russian translation?

That's for the extra gusto which you show. Just licking isn't enough for you.

I'm thirsty for boot liquor now

Just great
