No. Streaming live sports is fucking ghetto. At best you're 45 seconds behind everyone and there are always stutters/buffering mishaps.

One of my best buds is the guy we go to for Super Bowl and other big events cause he's single and keeps beer/weed in stock, but the guy doesn't have cable and it's almost always a mess.

Fuck streaming sports.

Ok that’s good to know.

I’ve never streamed sports but I don’t have the patience for what you described. Plus my sons are hugh baseball fans. I’m moving into a new construction apartment that’s a 3 minute drive to the ocean. It’s gonna be a sweet bachelor pad.

Thought I posted about this earlier and it doesn't surprise me! The new service since mid-Jan I went to has maybe gone out for 30 minutes max once. I also did have to reboot it that took 5 minutes! The delay will never go away but unless you need to be on other media streams while watching sports, NOT an issue! The buffering with this service rarely happens! The mess your talking about is It does takes a few seconds to load channels!

For 7 bucks a month, I can't beat it! Of course plus 54 bucks for internet! IT ALL DEPENDS HOW GOOD OF A STREAM THE SERVICE HAS! I know eventually the gov will do something to shut these loophole businesses down!
 
I'm sure streaming technology will improve enough that it'll become indistinguishable from a live TV signal. It's just not there yet, even if you have ultra-fast Internet.

We pay like $30 a month for basic cable +$60 per year so I can get my Habs games. Still seems worth it.
 
I get you Matty and to each his own! I still would have Comcast if I wanted to pay 250 monthly! Not a millionaire so this does the trick for me! Even Comcast wasn't giving me every NFL, MLB, NHL, and NBA game without an added charge! Appears Canada has cheaper cable services than US!

Is that an issue unless you are betting live or you can hear a neighbour's TV? There are loads of people(even younger than us) who are years ahead in life - 45 seconds for delayed sports feed is immaterial. I have to admit I hardly watch any sport now.

It's most definitely an issue for me in a condo building that has a sports bar at ground level. When TO teams are involved, you notice three waves of reactions - the people watching cable, those on legal streams and then those watching shitty illegal streams.

Marty, I understand the "TO" reference but I believe some of the American posters may not.

For those dumbericans I say this: "TO" = TORONTO
 
Montreal is hard to pin, but I'd say it's definitely more of a Boston/Portland hybrid than Louisiana. You've got the clean-cut academics and the rugged whiteness of Boston, plus the bohemian, grungy, crazy-food-truck stuff of Portland.
