People can be such petty, simpleton, groupthink, toilet paper hoarding assholes. No wonder elites have no respect for us. They'll keep burying us, with no regrets

What an imagery . Why would elites respect them? The elites have got rich off the plebs - the same plebs who think buying a shiny new phone every year is essential for their existence. Self-restraint and self-discipline are not easy qualities to inculcate. Groupthink is important to keep the masses in line. If it leads them to hoard TPs, then so be it.

It’s necessary and important to report on this pandemic and what we can do to protect ourselves and our loved ones. It’s equally important in my view to begin a conversation about how we preserve our social and communal order during a time when we should not be in community. Being told not to be with friends and loved ones, not to touch one another is sensible and needed BUT is also completely against our impulse to care for each by drawing closer during times such as these. What will be the long term damage to our social fabric after this is over?

FFS. This guy can't live without his touchy-feely ways.

The infectious disease experts aren't exactly experts on mental and economic health. So sure they're gonna advice any drastic measure that may have the slightest effect on flattening the curve, or whatever the fuck.
Curious if they're worried that a temporary slow down of the spread will leave us at the same point later, when the shutdown is lifted. Or are they fine with never lifting the bans.
I wonder how much infection is spreading through walmart right now

Death rate still at 10% for closed cases and still at 95% mild cases that are active! Saints Sean Payton tested positive plus some more NBA players! Of course those who are "special" will get tested quicker! I expect when more testing available to lots of people a drastic spike in active cases will occur. Then let's keep a close eye at the DEATH and MILD %s and they progress!

I wonder what the future of the handshake will be post-virus.

All my chips in the middle that death rates plummet

I cant find active dry yeast. Will trade someone for tp.

pretty convinced now this stupidity is only designed to isolate and bury the people. Instead of going about normal activities these idiots are forced to huddle in Walmart and gas stations. Will have minimal effect on spreading the virus, huge effect on everything else, including peoples long term health.

I still have work. At the factory I work at they actually bump our presence there up to 24/7 because theft when workers aren't there is a big concern. The bums have been getting more obnoxious on public transit.

Pepper spray on hand.

If I have to pepper spray an obnoxious bum I will post video.

Never thought it would get this bad, but it has! And not just the flu but the precautions (necessary) being taken. Now though I realize it will get worse before it gets better! Old people (old now) along with persons having pre-existing conditions (for now) dying from COVID-19, a flu! Yes a higher rate, but still just a BAD flu! Hopefully bases starts up on June 16th and not the 18! :)

Looking at this chart from COVID-19 you can see why this flu can be so much worse in containing it! More or less it's invisible for a longer period of time!

For comparison, the incubation period for the common flu (seasonal influenza) is typically around 2 days. Incubation period for other coronaviruses: SARS 2-7 days; MERS 5 days typically (range 2-14 days).

Novel Coronavirus
(COVID-19)
2-14 or 0-24 days *
SARS
2-7 days,
as long as 10 days
MERS
5 days (range: 2-14)
Swine Flu
1-4 days,
as long as 7 days
Seasonal Flu
2 days (1-4 range)
VirusIncubation Period
(typical cases)

And hopefully sooner than later when it dies down, the economy will come back! Might take a long time, but this recession wasn't caused by failed governmental practices! That's what gives me hope! And this flu only strengthens my long time belief of less reliance on China for EVERYTHING!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

My expert analysis says that in about a month either most of the country will be infected, or the rate of infections will slow significantly prior. Either way it should be over the hump by then

I think for some of the bums they actually try to be so obnoxious that you give them money to shut up/go away. One on the bus the other day just bursts out screaming at this older lady sitting across from him. Another on the subway bursts out in this stupid speech on the subway in my car, he had his mask on finishing it warning us all about Coronavirus. He could tell he annoyed me and chose to target me as I was walking to the exit door to get off. So I put him on blast "you're a real fucking obnoxious piece of shit, you know that?" and I was getting ready to ruin him if he made a move.

He mumbled something but he wasn't getting any money from anyone around there after that.

What a cocksucker. If you're begging people for money, at least be polite about it.
