the picture quality of every Vizio ive ever seen seems to be considerably lower than the top brands, imo... it is a lot of bang for your buck though and if you never had to see a Vizio next to a sony/samsung etc., then you would really think you were getting the best deal out there...personally, the difference i see is hugh... i may purchase a 42/47 incher for one of the spare bedrooms though... can get one for 400-500 bucks or so at wal-mart when they run their sales i think

My only advice would be not to get a plasma TV when their are other better options out there!

Not in the market for a TV for probably quite a while but did some research and it appears that I now have to say presently you get equal quality in plasma vs LCD!

Know a few people from years back that had a "burn-in" effect in the pixels from plasmas but the new ones for the most part it is now non-existent! From what I read if your going 50"+ go plasma and smaller ones like 17-40" go LCD!

Bottom line appears to be go like with any product a quality manufacturer if money is not an issue!

We had an LG. It blew up. Remarkably they came out and fixed it for free 2 and half years later.

the big plasma i bought to raise morale after the padres blew the west last year was an LG and has worked flawlessly for me thus far so figured I'd stick to same brand with similar praises from you guys.

speaking of resistance edward with another dud. ok maybe i lied pinny didnt seem all that active in general.

I agree. got a friend that has a Vizio. picture isnt as good as Samsungs or Sonys IMO
but for the price you cant beat it compared to non-HDTV
just depends what you want to spend.
I'm in the camp that you get what you pay for
