If a Euro player ever tried that in the NHL he would be risking his life with Canadian fans and players. Shit like this is why the NHL needs to abolish the shootout and adopt a 5 min OT with 4 on 4 followed by a 5 min with 3 on 3 if the score is still deadlocked. Also players who take a penalty in OT with time remaining should never be allowed to participate in any shootouts is the score is still tied after the 3 on 3.
