New system with 8 on it. I want the 8 Pro on it instead.

I bought the Pro at best buy for $49

from what i gathered he bought said computer with 8 already installed (probably home version) and bought the upgrade to pro.

MF was correct, windows really dummied-down 8 to be like Apple. At least Apple gets it right before releasing a product. Right now I give it a D, need to see the Pro version first.
