Why does everyone have to LOVE music?

I speak fondly of music from my teenage/early adult life. But really I could take it or leave it.

Blitty, next time you walk in a bar and their isn't music playing, ask yourself "Why won't she just stop talking"?

Guys love music because it makes women noises more palatable.

A lot of it is posturing IMO.

For example, I think people like the idea/image of U2 more than U2 itself.

Same goes with these pseudoindie bands that play at these massive festivals.

People just want to belong to something, they couldn't care less about the music as long as the time signature makes it easy to dance to.

People suck.

As a person going through life known as a very musical person - which I am - no question - that's how I am seen - I listen to very little music. Very little. There is the stuff at work which I have no control over but as far as actually putting music on for myself - very, very seldom.

I do love music - I am creating music every day - and I have listened to a lot of music in the past - but I don't put it on. I almost always opt for crappy talk radio in my car; I can't remember the last time I put on a CD at home.


I have no idea what point I might be making here.

It was always a business. Unfortunately the performers always got the shaft. The music business is almost as scummy as touts.
