In my entire career as a bartender, I have never made less then $34,920. Considering I have worked across the country and been doing it for years, I'm suspecting the BLS stats are wrong.

Either that, or I have been very fortunate in my years as a bartender.

You've been fortunate. You know how to hustle drinks, many don't.

LOL. I'm not going to try to convince you that they are very correct. But they are.

It's weird to me because I know quite a few bartenders and ALL of them make more than 36K a year. Hell, when I lived in Vegas, if you weren't making 52K a year, you were doing it wrong.

Even where I am in upstate NY right now, my peers are making $700 a week take home. I am definitely not in a high volume area. I guess people in North Dakota and Iowa make 11K a year.

My friend who worked at the Cosmo making $85 K quit and moved back here. He can't figure out why casino dealers here make $40-50K.

A

Now I didn't say you called me a loser. I'm just mentioning I think of this post when I hear the song.
Gotcha. When you referred to me in the 3rd person after I directed a thread to you, it seemed like a dig. I follow now. Obviously in the context of my post, I was arguing against judging anyone's occupation. Hell, I'm a 20+ year paralegal turned mystery shopper.
