Just from our experience, here's a small sampling. Can give more specifics if you need!
Near RSW (right outside the airport):
-Miromar Outlets - outdoor mall for shopping
-Backyard social - drinks, games, food trucks
FT Myers
-Brightwater Lagoons - new waterpark with kayaking, swim up bar, inflatable obstacle course
-Margaritaville - day passes available I believe
-Top Golf
Bonita Springs (between Ft Myers and Naples)
-Sports Challenge America - Virtual simulator with games, shooting, golf and indoor bowling alley. Inexpensive and fun
Naples (not much to do for families)
-Beach obviously
-Sun N Fun waterpark (inexpensive but not a ton of slides)
-5th Ave downtown has all the uppity/touristy restaurants and shopping
-Mercato has tons of restaurant options, movie theather with mini-golf
-Tin city is an area near downtown on the water with seafood restaurants
-Corkscrew park - great playground for the kids and a small water park
-Corkscrew Sanctuary is near my house and I've never been. Not sure if you will see any gators as it is so hot and dry right now but I've heard it's a nice scenic walk
-Seed to Table supermarket - full of bars (wine bar, beer cave, and upstairs everything), live music and amazing food. Even have a nursery to drop the kids while you shop. Can pick out steak or seafood and they will cook it for you for no additional charge. We hit it regularly for lunch
Sanibel/Captiva
-A lot has changed there since Hurricane Ian destroyed so much. Very chill vibes and not much going on. Haven't been since storm
